Installation:
Proper surface preparation is a required factor to ensure maximum performance of Re-Tired Rubber Mulch.
*Any existing surface (wood chips, pea gravel, sand, grass, asphalt or concrete) should be removed.
*A border is highly recommended for containment.
*A weed barrier that is breathable is recommended to control weeds and allow water to filter through.
*The minimum depth of Re-Tired Rubber Mulchis 3".
***Never install Re-Tired Rubber Mulch over Asphalt or concrete, it must be removed***
Maintenance:
Leaves can be blown off with a power blower at the proper angle.
If Re-Tired Rubber Mulchshould get dirty or dust covered it can be rinsed off with water very easily.
Playground applications, it is important to level the playing area (particularly at the end of slides and under swings) on a regular basis to maintain the critical fall height safety factor of Re-Tired Rubber Mulch. This can be done with a garden rake.
Coverage:
35lb bag covers approximately 22 sq ft at 1" depth
1,500lb sac covers approximately 1,000 sq ft at 1" depth
Residential play area, minimum depth is 4"
Commercial play area, minimum depth play area is 6"
